Fashion advisor Susannah Constantine has candidly recounted the moment she experienced a wardrobe mishap at a royal dinner party.

Susannah shared that Prince Philip swooped in to save her from further embarrassment. The former Strictly Come Dancing contestant had been at Windsor Castle amidst her then-relationship with the late Princess Margaret's son David Linley.

During her chat on the Dirty Mother Pukka podcast with hosts Anna Whitehouse and Polly Hazlewood, 62-year-old Susannah, who rose to fame with Trinny Woodall on the hit show What Not to Wear, referred to the incident as her "worst wardrobe malfunction". She shared with the hosts: "My worst was pretty heroic, actually. I was at Windsor Castle, this was when I was going out with Princess Margaret's son, David."

Wearing a stylish Valentino dress borrowed from her mother, Susannah found herself seated at the dinner table between Prince Philip and Prince Edward. To her astonishment, in the midst of her meal, Prince Philip reached out and touched her back. She recounted the jaw-dropping moment on the podcast, with Susannah saying on the latest episode: "I was just sort of, you know, eating my soup and everything, and suddenly Prince Phillip put his hand on my back, and I thought, 'Oi oi! What's going on here?'" And things got even more startling, as she continued: "And then he went round to my front, and I thought he was going for one of my boobs!"

However, Philip was actually coming to Susannah's aid, who had unwittingly suffered a wardrobe malfunction. The front of her dress had come undone, exposing her breasts at the dinner table, as reported by OK! magazine! this week. She revealed on the podcast: "And he lifted my dress up to recover my modesty! And because my boobs were open to the public, I was flashing to the whole room!"

She said that Philip then asked one of his footmen to help secure Susannah's dress back together, before Princess Margaret stepped in to assist. Susannah remembered Philip requesting a footman for a "couple of safety pins" and Princess Margaret helped fix the back of her dress.

Susannah was romantically involved with Princess Margaret's son David - who has the full title of David Armstrong-Jones, Viscount Linley - for eight years during the 1980s and 90s. David later married Serena Alleyne Stanhope in 1993 and they had two children together. They announced their decision to end their marriage back in 2020. Meanwhile, TV star Susannah tied the knot with Sten Bertelsen in 1995 and the pair have three children - Cece, Esme and Joe.
