Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson could reportedly yet be set for a deadline day move away from Stamford Bridge, despite the Blues pulling the plug on a move to Bayern Munich.
The striker looked set to join the Bundesliga on a loan deal, but was summoned back to Chelsea on Saturday afternoon after Liam Delap picked up an injury in the 2-0 Premier League win over Fulham. Jackson’s camp remained in Munich on Sunday in the hope of resurrecting a deal, but that did not come to fruition.
Despite the late U-turn by Chelsea, it’s now been reported that an exit before the 7pm deadline is not out of the realms of possibility. According to the Guardian’s Jacob Steinberg, a permanent exit for the striker still can’t be ruled out.

One of the possible destinations for Jackson may be Newcastle United. The Magpies are one of the clubs previously linked with an interest in the striker.
Eddie Howe’s side will be on the lookout for a replacement for Alexander Isak in the final hours of the window, having agreed a £125 million fee with Liverpool for the striker. With deals for Wolves’ Jorgen Strand Larsen and Brentford’s Yoane Wissa currently appearing to stall, Newcastle could potentially turn their attention back to Jackson.
The money brought in from the sale of Isak means that they are likely to be able to offer a permanent deal to Chelsea for the player, something that is likely to appeal to Stamford Bridge chiefs.
The development comes as it emerges that Chelsea have also terminated the loan deal with Sunderland for striker Marc Guiu. The forward could come in as a replacement for Delap while he recovers from injury, which would then allow Jackson to complete a move away from Stamford Bridge.
