Moment Liam Payne's dad Geoff said 'he's gone' as late star jetted off with One Direction

The emotional moment dad accepted family life had totally changed when the young star jetted off with has resurfaced online.

Geoff can be seen recalling how Liam had 'gone' as he headed across the world on tour has been watched by millions in the wake of the heartbreaking news that the star has died at the age of 31 after falling from a hotel balcony in Argentina. report that fans have pay homage to his life in recent days.

Some moments from his chart-topping career have re-emerged, including one in which his dad discussed seeing his son’s success with the group following their formation on X-Factor. In a clip from One Direction’s 2013 film This Is Us, his proud father opened up about missing Liam as his music career really took off.

“I don’t think we get to see him enough. There’s a lot said about the mum’s spirit and feeling. But dads do feel it as well, especially at 17, you’d like to have that son around you,” he said in the emotional video. “All I had to offer him was to take him drinking and playing snooker.

"I didn’t really have an awful lot to offer him, but that’s part of your establishment as a young man, and that time went. I’ve missed it. I’ve missed it.” He added: “He’s the only fella in the family, he’s gone.”

Following Liam’s death, dad Geoff headed to the CasaSur hotel in Buenos Aires where the Strip That Down singer passed away. As he visited the hotel, he read tributes to his superstar son and kissed pictures of Liam.

Following the tragedy, Liam's family also released a heartfelt statement. “We are heartbroken. Liam will forever live in our hearts and we'll remember him for his kind, funny and brave soul. We are supporting each other the best we can as a family and ask for privacy and space at this awful time,” it read.

One Direction, who went on an extended hiatus in 2015, released their poignant statement in response to their bandmates death. “We're completely devastated by the news of Liam's passing. In time, and when everyone is able to, there will be more to say. But for now, we will take some time to grieve and process the loss of our brother, who we loved dearly,” they said.

“The memories we shared with him will be treasured forever. For now, our thoughts are with his family, his friends, and the fans who loved him alongside us. We will miss him terribly. We love you Liam.” The tragic former star died at the age of 31 last Wednesday after falling from a balcony in Buenos Aires.

His devastated family continue to come to terms with the news and his sister says he hopes he has now "found peace" in a moving statement today. The singer's is being treated as 'inconclusive' by police as they try to get to the bottom of exactly what happened last week.

A post-mortem examination has determined that the dad-of-one died from multiple injuries after the fall from the balcony of his suite. However, lead investigator, Prosecutor Marcelo Roma, has called for histopathological, biochemical and toxicological studies to be carried out, to confirm whether the much loved star was drugged and intoxicated.
