Liverpool look set to also have some key players absent for the Premier League clash against Arsenal with a new worry emerging for Arne Slot. The Gunners will take on Liverpool at Emirates Stadium next Sunday and injuries look set to play a major role in deciding the outcome.

Mikel Arteta has seen his squad hit by numerous fitness blows in recent weeks with captain Martin Odegaard expected to be out.

As for Liverpool, Alisson has been ruled out for the next few weeks with a hamstring injury while Alexis Mac Allister is on the bench against Chelsea after overcoming a minor issue.

Slot has since been handed a new injury worry with Diogo Jota forced off inside the first 30 minutes at Anfield. The incident that ultimately led to his withdrawal arrived in the opening stages after he was hauled to the ground by Tosin Adarabioyo with Jota then taking a major hit to his ribs.

Physios saw to him but after roughly 25 minutes he was unable to continue with Darwin Nunez introduced moments after Mohamed Salah had put the Reds in front. Jota being absent for the clash would be a significant blow as he has previously caused the Gunners numerous issues.

Given their own injury concerns, it will be a welcome sight for Arteta and Co. and his absence may present a much more even playing field based on the marquee players missing the game.

Before their Premier League meeting, both teams are in Champions League action with Arsenal facing Shakhtar Donetsk at home while Liverpool travel to Germany for a clash against RB Leipzig. With such a huge clash to come on the weekend, Slot and Arteta will likely rotate their teams, but injuries could prevent wholesale changes.
