Liam Lawson's answer to probing net worth question speaks volumes about him

Formula One rising star previously delivered a refreshingly candid response when quizzed about his personal wealth – humorously claiming he's far from well off.

Despite reports from that suggest the driver's net worth stood at a cool £1.3million ($1.5million) as of August 2023, Lawson downplayed this figure from two years prior to that. When faced with a search about his net worth in a 2021posted on YouTube, Lawson, with a grin, retorted: "Liam Lawson net worth? That would be a big fat zero.

"Literally, I haven't earned any money in my whole career. The only money I've ever made is from Twitch so I have a net worth of zero." Despite this, with a strong finish to the season, he could be in for a windfall, reports . However, when it comes to moving up to Red Bull, Lawson feels that's still a long shot.

Speaking at the United States Grand Prix, he said: "I mean, I think [joining Red Bull is] very far ahead, honestly. The target or the goal that's been set out is the same as it's always been since I was 17 and joined the program.

"It's all performance-based, and that's basically how they'll be looking at it. Obviously, Yuki's done a very good job the last couple of years, and especially this year. He's the benchmark for them to compare me against; he's the only one in the same car as me. So I'll be directly compared with him."

Lawson also shared his perspective on future prospects, adding: "I guess the goal or the expectation from them is for me to compete alongside him. In terms of where that sets me out for next year or in the future, I have absolutely no idea. But that's the target that's been set out."
