Kelly Brook warned 'marriage might not survive' before joining Race Across The World

Kelly Brook has claimed she was warned that taking part in Celebrity Race Across The World with her husband Jeremy Parisi could ruin their relationship.

The couple appeared on ITV's This Morning on Wednesday (September 18) to chat with hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley their experience on the BBC reality show.

Kelly explained: "You don't know how hard it's going to me. They try and sit you down and say 'this is going to really hard and the marriage might not survive' before letting out a giggle.

She continued: "I think we were ready for an adventure and we hadn't had a honeymoon either so it was a win, win for Jeremy because he didn't have to pay for a honeymoon. We've been together 10 years and been married two years and we've had all sorts of ups and downs in life and I think we were ready."

Kelly and Jeremy have been competing with the likes of Jeff Brazier and son Freddy, Kola Bokinni and cousin Mary Ellen, and Scott Mills and husband Sam in a bid to be crowned winners. Their journey began in Belém, Northern Brazil - the gateway to the Amazon - and passed through five checkpoints across the length of South America, to reach the finish line in the Andes, Frutillar in Southern Chile.

The final leg of the journey airs tonight (September 18) and Kelly has admitted that she's "quite disappointed". The model said: "I think we are quite disappointed in ourselves. We feel that we are good racers, we’ve made some good decisions and we’ve also budgeted well. So, to be neck and neck with everybody feels a little bit like all of that has been for nothing, because we had hoped that we would advance a lot further than everyone.

"We have sacrificed a lot. We've sacrificed things we’ve wanted to see and Jeremy has sacrificed meals. Having made all those sacrifices and still having another week to go, it's quite disheartening. This might be out hardest checkpoint to leave. I think we feel a little bit defeated and we don’t know how it will pan out. Mentally, emotionally and physically, we’ll try and give that last bit of energy to take us to the finish."

Jeremy added: "It’s been weird, because in some legs, Jeff and Freddy have been in front of us for 24 hours or another group has been 6, 7 or even 8 hours behind us but we are now all so close together. You realise that anybody can win. I am still confident, and I know I can finish it but it’s going to be quite challenging to finish this in three or four days."

Celebrity Race Across the World continues tonight on BBC One and BBC iPlayer from 9pm
