'I think Trent Alexander-Arnold is gone - there's no chance Liverpool can keep him'

Tim Sherwood has brutally told that it has next summer.

Speaking on Sky Sports, he said: “With Trent, I think he’s gone. When Real Madrid come knocking for you and he’s won everything at the football club, there’s no chance they’re keeping him now.

"(Virgil) Van Dijk and (Mohamed) Salah, I think that’s completely different. I’m not sure where they’re going to go that’s better than Liverpool.”

Speaking further on Liverpool's chances of keeping and at the club, in particular, Sherwood believes the club's good start to the season will go a long way in doing so.

The Reds currently sit top of the Premier League and are going well in the Champions League and , putting them on the right track for silverware later on in the season.

"You’re talking about three top drawer players there," Sherwood continued. "They want to win trophies; they don’t want to sit there challenging for the Champions League positions. They want to be winning stuff so [winning 10 of Arne Slot’s first 11 matches] can only help."
