Good Morning Britain host Ranvir Singh was forced to pause the show today to announce the death of a showbiz legend.
Record producer and songwriter Quincy Jones has died at the age of 91. News presenter Ranvir interrupted the show to announce his death. He was known for his work with Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra, and Ray Charles.
His death was announced in a statement from the family. They shared: "Tonight, with full but broken hearts, we must share the news of our father and brother Quincy Jones' passing. And although this is an incredible loss for our family, we celebrate the great life that he lived and know there will never be another like him."
As Ranvir hosted the show today, she paused the news segment and revealed the news about Quincy's death. His publicist, Arnold Robinson, announced his death on Sunday night at his home in Bel Air.
The talented producer worked on Michael Jackson's Thriller album. He arranged records for Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald and compared the soundtracks for Roots and In the Heat of the Night. His TV and film production company was founded in 1990 and was behind the successful series The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
He was also behind President Bill Clinton's first inaugural celebration and the track We Are The World, which set the 1985 charity record for famine relief in Africa.
