Big Brother fans demand return of iconic feature after 'uncomfortable' scenes

Big Brother fans are calling for the return of an 'iconic' feature to the show on a permanent basis. The smoking room was featured for the first time during the episode on Friday, October 11.

explained: "it was in order to accurately portray a scenario that played out in the house... and to show the full context of a discussion between Ali and Marcello."

Friday night witnessed the first eviction from the house with hosts and catching up on all the latest news in the first live interview on Big Brother: Late and Live afterwards.

Dean, Nathan, Ryan and Baked Potato (Rosie) were the first housemates to face the public vote and risk being evicted from the house, with Ryan ultimately being booted out.

However, fans were thrilled when it was also the first episode that showcased the housemates' smoking area for the first time in years.

Ali and Marcello were having a smoke together but when they returned to the main house, Marcello told others that they 'just kissed.'

He continued to joke by saying they 'vape kissed' while Ali stormed off and later told others "he knows I have a girlfriend," reports .

The footage from the smoking area allowed viewers to see that nothing actually happened.

Ali informed him he 'fixed but ruined' the situation after Marcello continued to joke around.

Fans took to social media to react to the 'uncomfortable watch'. One posted: "Oh god that was uncomfortable to watch between Ali and Marcello."

Another commented: "The smoking area being filmed on an 4 and being in a black box is iconic."

While one viewer added: "Just get Marcello out already! I'm glad ITV showed the smoking area."

During the episode, the housemates were hit with the news that they had failed their first shopping task after the house was turned into the Coco Eye Land Resort.

A whopping 51 fails were tallied among the group, including Marcello nicking watermelon, Sarah offending guests and Lily perching on laps during brunch.

Big Brother didn't waste any time in setting them their next challenge, instructing them to uncover the hidden links between themselves.

This sparked some heated discussions, with two housemates confessing they wanted Trump back in the White House and Nathan expressing his belief that protestors causing traffic disruption should be jailed.
