Arsenal has been when travels to the Emirates on Sunday. The two teams will do battle in the pick of the weekend's fixtures in the Premier League, as the Reds look to open up a seven-point lead over Mikel Arteta's men.

has started the season in fine form, registering seven goals and seven assists in 12 games in all competitions, but goes into the game in north London on the back of a rare below-par display against RB Leipzig in the Champions League. as he was withdrawn just past the hour mark in Eastern Germany, and former Chelsea and Everton star Pat Nevin believes Salah will be fired up when kick-off comes around at the Emirates.

“Liverpool will have to play better than they did at Leipzig," Nevin told BBC Radio 5 Live. "To play Arsenal, at their ground, they’re very tough, so Liverpool will have to step up from Leipzig, but I think they know that.

“When Liverpool got a bit of a fright after about 25 minutes [vs Leipzig], suddenly bang, they went up through the gears. That’s another thing about good sides, they still have gears to go through, and know when they have to go through them.

“Players like Mohamed Salah, they know that, if they go all in, all of the time, they won’t last the season. You didn’t the best of Salah at Leipzig, I suspect you might see the best of him against Arsenal, and he’s not the only one you can say that about. Liverpool are improving and will improve more, but their biggest test of the season [so far] will be Sunday.”

Arne Slot was asked whether he was disappointed with Salah's performance against Leipzig in midweek, and if that was the reason that he brought the attacker off with nearly half an hour to play. However, Slot played down the significance of the substitution, insisting he was just managing the 32-year-old's work load.

"It is a tough fixture list," Slot said. "Curtis Jones was the same, he hasn’t played 90 minutes yet. We have some injuries now so I have to take care of the players. Sunday is a big game coming up and I need to use as many players as I can for these tough months."
