Mikel Arteta's side are now six points clear of second-placed Manchester City in the Premier League table.
Reigning champions Liverpool are a point further back in third place after they beat Aston Villa to end a run of four consecutive league defeats.
The lead at the top of the table has seen Arsenal listed as the favourites to be crowned Premier League champions this season for the first time since 2004.

As a result, a prediction has emerged claiming to provide insight into what the final Premier League table will look like.
Opta Analyst have crunched the numbers and believe that the Gunners will win the title this season in comfortable fashion.
The prediction believes that Arsenal will finish with 81.44 (81) points, which would be more than 10 points ahead of Man City, who are tipped to finish in second with 70.73 (71) points this season.
Liverpool are predicted to remain in third place with 69.97 (70) points, while Chelsea (62.76) and Crystal Palace (59.93) complete the top five spots that could also clinch Champions League football next season.
Arsenal have been given a 71 percent chance of winning the Premier League title this season, which makes them the overwhelming favourites with 28 matches left to play.
Man City are the next most likely with a 12.63 percent chance of being crowned Premier League champions, while Liverpool have just a 10.29 percent likelihood of beating Arsenal to retain their league title.
At the other end of the Premier League table, Wolves, West Ham and Nottingham Forest are the three clubs tipped to be relegated to the Championship this term.
